Our Team

Shakina brings over fifteen years of experience in outdoor education, guiding participants into deeper connection with Earth and the more-than-human world. They hold a BS in Psychology and a Master’s in Outdoor Education Leadership, and are currently pursuing a PhD in Sustainability Education. Their work integrates academic insight with lived experience on the land, weaving psychological understanding with Earth-based practice.

Shakina has worked with a range of outdoor programs throughout the West, always grounding their teaching in gratitude, reciprocity, and respect for all that Earth provides. They are deeply committed to helping students rediscover their place in the living world. For them, the most meaningful moments are when students begin to feel rooted—when curiosity becomes reverence, and learning becomes a path of return.

Narayan holds a BS in Outdoor Education Leadership and brings a deep passion for learning, growing, and playing in nature. A kind and gentle presence, he thrives as a mentor to youth of all ages, bringing curiosity, laughter, and heart to every experience.

New to The Bear’s Web, Narayan is a quick learner who values personal connection, nature immersion, and the power of shared discovery. He is committed to helping students feel safe, seen, and inspired as they deepen their relationship with the wild world around them.Narayan has a BS in Outdoor Education Leadership with a passion for learning and growing in nature.
